South West Water Public Meeting – Friday 10th July – The Engine Inn, Cripplesease

Posted on: 6th July 2026

West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, has convened a public meeting this Friday, 10th July, at The Engine Inn, Cripplesease, TR20 8NF, for local residents and businesses affected by the recent loss of water supply and low pressure in Nancledra, Carbis Bay, Halsetown, Cripplesease, Towednack, and surrounding areas. South West Water managers have agreed to attend Friday’s meeting to hear from affected residents.

Andrew has demanded action from South West Water since the failures began early in 2026. Residents and businesses have reported over 30 incidents since January.

South West Water attribute the problem to a local pumping-station fault combined with strain on its network. Matters have come to a head during recent heatwaves; with some constituents accusing South West Water of ‘refusing’ to supply bottled water, while others have hired portaloos at their own expense.

Andrew said: “I’m pleased South West Water bosses have answered my call to hear first-hand how badly this shocking issue has affected many of their customers. This is a chance for locals to have their say on the water outages which have caused real headaches for those in the area.”
