George supports call for action on South West Water

Speaking following his Cornish Liberal Democrat colleague Ben Maguire MP’s call for South West Water Chief Executive Susan Davy to ‘do the decent thing’ and quit, West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly MP Andrew George said:

“When the Conservatives privatised water, they created risk-free monopolies which could predetermine their profits a year ahead. Sewage discharges have doubled in the last 5 years, and yet South West Water continues to reward itself and its Chief Executive for failure.

“This is no longer sustainable, and I support my colleague’s call for action.”
