Andrew George MP Chairs Bluefin Tuna review meeting

Andrew George MP was asked to chair a recent review meeting in Newlyn on the sustainable management of Bluefin Tuna and the associated fishery in the waters around the Cornish Coast and western approaches.

Bluefin Tuna have returned to our waters after it was all but fished out about 60 years ago. Though recovery (most likely through migration) has been strong, fishermen, conservationists and scientists all agree its management as a commercial fishing stock requires great sensitivity and caution.
