“Solidarity with Ukraine” message to Andrew George MP 

The public who attended Andrew George MP’s public meeting in Helston Guildhall at the weekend expressed solidarity with Ukraine. The well-attended public meeting also expressed unanimous deep concern about the shocking way present Zelensky had been ambushed at the White House press conference on Friday.

Andrew said, “Putin was the only winner from the Vance/Trump ambush of Zelensky. The rest of the world loses. It was clearly pre-planned. Orchestrated by Vance. Shouted at and talked over by the Putin appeaser-in-chief. Zelensky himself did well in remaining dignified while the bullying onslaught took place. This stage-managed attempt to humiliate a man fighting for his country sadly exposed the very worst of the current US administration.” 

Amongst many other issues raised during the evening were: the state of the NHS, nursing, affordable homes and development issues, devolution to Cornwall and the risk faced by our climate and nature. 

Andrew holds regular meetings to give local people a chance to raise issues and hear what he’s doing in Parliament on their behalf.
