Health Secretary to face questions
Health Select Committee member and West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, will question Health Secretary, Wes Streeting MP, in the House of Commons this afternoon when he comes before committee members.
Amongst items Mr George is keen to pursue with the Minister include:
- How the Health Secretary will deliver the many welcome proposals in his recently published 10-year plan.
- How he will ensure the future NHS meets safe clinical staffing standards.
- How he will shift from hospital to community, when hospitals are currently under stress, with perpetual corridor care and ambulances still queued up outside Emergency Departments.
- Who will provide an independent patient voice, after Healthwatch is scrapped.
These and other questions will be raised when the Committee commences its evidence session from 2pm this afternoon.
