George welcomes surgical robot announcement 

Commenting on the news that Cornwall will receive its first ever soft-tissue robotic surgical system, West Cornwall & Isles of Scilly MP, Andrew George, said: 

“I congratulate everyone involved in this campaign. This will further enhance the quality of surgical services in Cornwall.” 

The campaign to bring the system to Treliske Hospital, Truro. was a collaborative effort between RCHT surgeons, Rotary Clubs across Cornwall, community fundraising groups and local residents, with the support of all six of Cornwall’s MPs. Patients requiring robotic surgery have – until now – had to travel to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, or beyond.
