Hospice UK

I value the essential role our hospices play in our communities and have been a long-term supporter of St Julias, and have supported Cornwall Hospice Care, and many fundraising efforts over the years.

The issue was raised at Prime Minister’s Questions at the end of 2024 by Liberal Democrats’ Leader, Si Ed Davey MP, leading to the announcement of some additional funding. But this won’t help cover the additional burden caused by the government’s hikes in employer NICS. We’re aware we must continue to campaign to ensure that we secure a sustainable and long-term solution.

For example, we are calling for an Emergency Health and Social Care Budget to address the broader crises in our health services. This includes ensuring that hospices receive the necessary funding to continue their invaluable work.

I support the work of Hospice UK and will continue to work to secure a sounder foundation for our hospices as an essential component of our healthcare system.
