Representation of the People Bill – Party Donations

British politics should be protected from corrupt influence or be bought by wealthy interests. Democracy should be shaped by the voices of citizens, not distorted by billionaires, or indeed a foreign trillionaire. Wealthy donors are increasingly dominating political fundraising, and public trust is eroding as a result. 

I have and will continue to support efforts to introduce a donations cap. It is essential we act to prevent the further entrenchment of inequality in our political system and to safeguard the integrity of our democracy.
