Thanks to Helston-based charities helping in the Philippines

Posted on: 15th November 2013

Local MP, Andrew George, is congratulating Helston based charities who are providing emergency relief to communities in the Philippines stricken as a result of Typhoon Haiyan.

Mr George said: “Tom Henderson has told me that his Shelter for Humanity charity has a six man team working out there and Alison Wallace of Shelterbox has confirmed that a Shelterbox Response Team was already in the Philippines responding to the aftermath of the earthquake in October. I understand that a further two teams are en route to the Philippines.

“Helston can be proud that it is making a real difference to people’s lives in a country where it is proving that aid is difficult to get through.”
