EDM | Stop The Drop Campaign

Andrew George MP has seconded EDM2062. Motion reads:

 

“That this House supports the Stop the Drop campaign, run by the Campaign to Protect Rural England and its President Bill Bryson, to clean up litter and fly-tipping in the countryside; is concerned that, according to the Local Environment Quality Survey for England, litter levels in many areas remain unsatisfactory; welcomes a recent fall in the number of fly-tipping incidents reported to local authorities, but notes that few reported incidents of fly-tipping result in a prosecution; and calls on the Government to support a change to the law on roadside litter through the Localism Bill, to ensure that the owner of a vehicle from which litter is thrown is responsible for the act in the first instance and fined.”
