Statement on the proposed Urgent Care Centre at West Cornwall Hospital

Commenting on today’s news from the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust about the proposed Urgent Care Centre at West Cornwall Hospital, the MP for West Cornwall, Andrew George, said:

“Although this of course doesn’t deliver the ‘Doctor-led A&E’ we were promised some time ago, it is at least an important step in the right direction. I congratulate those who have worked hard to develop this proposal.

“After so many knock backs, it’s important that we now have a welcome building block to help develop the future of this vitally important hospital; a hospital which will again better deal with a range of urgent cases as well as its planned work.”
