St Michael’s Hospital: “Choose it and use it”!
George urges local community and patients to get behind their local hospitals.
Further to his earlier news release, West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, made the following statement after touring St Michael’s Hospital with Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Chief Executive, Lezli Boswell, Divisional Nurse in Charge, Kevin Wright and Nurse Manager at St Michael’s, Liz Thornton:
“I’m pleased that all four theatres at St Michael’s and other facilities are well used and that, as always, patient satisfaction levels are very high.
“The range of services provided at St Michael’s is significant and it is pleasing to note that St Michael’s can help take significant pressure from Treliske by taking trauma patients that are well enough to leave Treliske but not yet well enough to go home.
“In spite of the current uncertainty with the future of contracts for the provision of planned/elective procedures and its potential impact upon core NHS services provided by the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, I was very pleased and reassured to see how fit, popular and healthy St Michael’s was looking. It’s no wonder that it receives the high level of patient satisfaction that it gets.”
