Registered nurse to patient ratio and staffing levels is the key first step

Commenting on the Chief Nursing Officer’s statement this morning on nursing standards, Health Select Committee member, Andrew George, repeated his call on Government Ministers to concentrate on registered nurse staffing levels on hospital wards.

Mr George said:  “Until we get staffing levels right we’re never going to get on top of the challenges which nurses face.  Blaming nurses won’t do.
