Public meeting to discuss political cooperation
Former MP and candidate, Andrew George, will join a panel of speakers for a public meeting in Penzance this Thursday to explore the opportunities for greater political cooperation.
Attached is a poster about the event and a document which Mr George produced last year identifying many of the key policy areas on which he believes many political parties and members in west Cornwall could actually share a common platform.
Mr George was also a co-author of a book – The Alternative – published last year along with Caroline Lucas MP for the Greens and Lisa Nandy MP for Labour which promoted the concept of greater cooperation between the Parties.
Mr George explained, “I have always found tribalism between the Parties self-defeating. The Conservatives hold all seats in West Cornwall with the support of less than one third of the electorate. We have to do better.”
