Penzance Harbour news

Commenting on the press notice circulated by Penzance Town Council yesterday, local MP, Andrew George, confirmed that he maintains communication with Government Ministers and local stakeholders. He encourages all local partners to work with Cornwall Council for what he hopes will be a decision, which needs to be taken soon, to proceed with the Penzance Harbour Development.

He said: “I can confirm that the Minister remains committed to supporting the investment to safeguard and improve the vital ferry and freight link. The funding is available and the proposed scheme enjoys broad support locally.

“Penzance Harbour is owned by Cornwall Council and I have confidence in the excellent team of professionals at Cornwall Council who are more than capable of delivering the scheme. All it requires now is for the crucial decision to bring all those elements together and to deliver it.”
