Midwifery In The Nhs

Andrew George has seconded EDM2459. Motion reads: “That this House pays tribute to the work of midwives in ensuring women have a safe and secure childbirth; recognises the pressures facing all those who work in maternity units, particularly in the context of a sharply rising birth rate; supports the right of women to choose where they give birth; and calls on NHS trusts to ensure there are adequate midwife numbers in their hospitals.”
