Launch of Petition Fish

On the afternoon of Monday 11th July, Andrew George MP will join the Wildlife Trusts at the launch of their latest campaign entitled Petition Fish.

The campaign aims to ensure the Government effectively uses the powers available to it under the Marine and Coastal Access Act to create a number of Marine Conservation Zones by 2012. The Wildlife Trusts are calling for the Government to ensure that MCZ’s are in the right place, support recovery from past decline, and that they are managed well with adequate regulation and controls.

Mr George leads the Liberal Democrat Environment Team and is Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Fisheries Group, and has previously served as the Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for Fisheries.
