“I think I’ve met MPs of the future and I’m impressed” – George
Andrew George and students at Penwith College
Andrew George visited students at Penwith College campus on Friday. He explained to them how he got involved in politics, his upbringing in the constituency and what makes him tick.
Mr George came to politics relatively late. After schooling at Mullion, Helston and university at Sussex and Oxford he spent the next 18 years working in farming, housing, community development and charity sector and as a writer, before becoming an MP for St Ives in 1997.
After an hour-long Q & A Mr George said: “I was impressed. I think I have met MPs of the future, and perhaps even the next MP for this area.”
