I respect the right of the editor of this paper last week to roundly castigate my Party. And I hope the paper will reassure us it’s non-partisan by offering the same selective criticism of other mainstream Parties.

But it should also acknowledge that Parties are damned if they DO work with other Parties and damned if they DON’T. Politicians are criticised for bickering and not working together, but are then castigated if they seek to find common cause…
