Housing Finance: Affordable Solutions Meeting

This afternoon, the Member for the West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Constituency of St Ives, Andrew George MP, will take part in a discussion on Housing Finance, hosted by the All Party Group for Insurance and Financial Services.

The meeting will examine the role of insurance in sustainable home ownership, including how mortgage insurance can help first time buyers access the housing market in a sustainable way, and the role of financial safety nets in helping keep people in their homes.

Mr George has long campaigned for improvements in affordable home building in Cornwall, arguing that whilst the housing stock in Cornwall has doubled in the last 40 years, the problem of local people not being able to afford homes has worsened.
