George welcomes medal campaign success

Local MP, Andrew George, has welcomed today’s news that veterans of the Arctic convoys in the Second World War will be awarded medals.

Rt. Hon David Cameron MP announced during Prime Minister’s Questions that the veterans deserved recognition and he also added that there would be a ‘clasp’ for veterans of Bomber Command.

Mr George, who has supported these campaigns, said he was delighted by the announcement.
