Mitie

West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, raised complaints about the treatment of Mitie hospital staff when he met the Chief Executive of the Hospitals Trust, Bill Shields, recently.

Mr Shields acknowledged that the decision to outsource the services to Mitie – a decision taken before he came to the Trust – was unpopular and that the 7 plus 3 year contract was unusually long.

He also acknowledged that Mitie appeared to have made a mess of their payroll arrangements, especially at West Cornwall Hospital.  Mr George made clear his concern about the handling of staff and that he was still pursuing Mitie to sort the matter out.
