Posted on: 6th December 2013

38 deg Gagging fbAndrew George MP received a petition today at his Penzance constituency office from constituents raising concerns about the Lobbying Bill. Mr George supports their opposition to Part 2 of the Lobbying Bill.

Mr George recently spoke at a public meeting organised by the pressure group, 38 Degrees, in which he agreed with campaigners and defended the right of charities to campaign on policy issues. He voted against the Government’s measures when the Bill was debated in Parliament last month.

Hundreds of constituents have contacted Mr George to express concern that the Bill will prevent charities, community groups and campaigners in promoting debate on issues of deep public concern.
