George presses “Homes for locals”
Speaking in the Commons on Monday West Cornwall MP Andrew George pressed the Government to extend its mortgage guarantee scheme to support a rural “homes for locals” policy. Mr George proposed that the Government acts as guarantor where lenders seem to quibble about the legal detail of shared ownership and other intermediate market housing in rural areas.
