George to inspect collapsed sea sea wall at Coverack

Posted on: 21st February 2014

West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, will visit Coverack Cove after he completes his morning casework surgery in St Keverne tomorrow morning (Saturday 22nd February 2014) to inspect damage done to the sea wall in the Cove and the road which links the two halves of the village together – which is now unusable for any vehicle.

Mr George visited the village last weekend and met local people and has already taken up the concerns of local people with the Environment Agency, Cornwall Council and utility companies that provide water, drainage and electricity services in the road that has been undermined by the recent storms.

Today at approximately noon, another sizeable portion of the sea wall has collapsed, including protective railings and granite quoins which make up the substance of what remains of the sea wall in that area.

Mr George will get to the village at approximately 2pm, after he completes his surgery and visits in St Keverne.
