George calls for Health Bill to be scrapped
The MP for West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Constituency of St Ives, Andrew George today called on the Government to scrap the controversial Health and Social Care Bill.
During Health Questions in the House of Commons this afternoon Mr George said:
“When the Government introduced the Health and Social Care Bill a year ago it justified it with the claim that the NHS doesn’t achieve the same patient outcomes as its counterparts in Europe. Now we know that this isn’t the case will the Government withdraw the Bill?”
In his reply the Secretary of State, Andrew Lansley MP, disputed Mr George’s assertion and confirmed that the Government would continue to proceed with the Bill
