Frugi 10th Anniversary – a local business success story
Andrew George MP with Frugi founders
West Cornwall MP, Andrew George congratulated Helston-based clothing company, Frugi, as the company celebrate their 10th anniversary party.
Mr George said, “I was fortunate to have a chance to meet Frugi’s co-founders, Lucy and Kurt Jewson and their growing work force and support staff when I visited their Helston base recently to congratulate them on their Queen’s Award, prior to their 10th anniversary celebrations.
“All of the Frugi staff deserve warm congratulations for being honoured with a 2014 Queen’s Award for Enterprise; richly deserved recognition for their outstanding achievements in international trade.
“Frugi is a Cornish success story, which has become a local business exemplar in West Cornwall. From humble beginnings, Lucy and Kurt Jewson took a big risk which has paid off. They’ve turned Frugi into a bestselling award winning childrenswear brand in the UK, selling to more than 50 countries globally and creating jobs and bringing big contracts to an economy which needs a lift.
“I hope Frugi enjoy their 10th anniversary party celebrations tonight. It is hugely deserved.”
