Fair shares for Cornwall

West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, will call on Government Ministers to give Cornwall Council a fairer share of the Government local authority funding support during Parliamentary questions in the House of Commons today.

Mr George and his Liberal Democrat colleagues believe that some rural authorities like Cornwall have received significantly less than their urban counterparts for many years and are pressing the Coalition Government to put right a wrong that has left Cornwall’s schools, Social Services, libraries, fire service, housing and other essential services significantly underfunded when compared to the rest of the country.
