EDM | Detention Of Chinese Artist Ai Weiwei

Andrew George MP has signed EDM number 1849 in 2010-11, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 23/05/2011.

The motioin reads,

That this House is deeply concerned by recent reports of the detention of Ai Weiwei; notes with serious concern the detention of lawyers, artists, writers and government critics who are missing and possibly detained by the Chinese authorities in recent months; and calls on the Government to lead the international community in redoubling its efforts to ensure that China ends its human rights abuses.
