Cummings gets his comuppence
Boris Johnson today skewered himself on the sword of his own bluster and misjudgment. Meanwhile the real Prime Minister, Dominic Cummings, has seen his devious strategy of threats and dictatorial rule catastrophically fail.
Johnson complains that Parliament is stopping him from negotiating a Brexit deal with the EU. But he’s made no effort to commence negotiation.
Of course opposition Parties are unable to trust Johnson – perhaps the most dishonest and untrustworthy holder of the office of PM in history – (please let me know if you can make a case that there have been worse pathological liars in number 10?) – so will be unable to accept Johnson’s proposed snap General Election at this time, at least until they have controlled the agenda and stopped Cummings driving this country over the cliff.
I’m sure Johnson will still want to have his magic money tree splurge of pre-election bribes. But now he can go away and jolly well “turbo charge” his quiet contemplation as others take control of Brexit planning.
