Crisis At Christmas

Andrew George has signed EDM2538. Motion reads: “That this House pays tribute to 40 years of Crisis at Christmas, which has provided support, companionship and vital services to homeless people at Christmas time since 1972; gives special acknowledgement to the hard work and dedication of the tens of thousands of volunteers and donors who have made this possible; recognises that whilstit is right to celebrate the lives helped and changed, it is a scandal that in twenty-firstcentury Britain homelessness still exists and that a single homeless person canapproach their local council for help and be turned away to sleep on the streets; and calls on the Government to consider what changes could be made to ensure that allhomeless people receive written advice, real assistance and emergency accommodation when they need it.”
