Celebration of Cornish enterprise and cuisine
I was pleased to be able to pop in to a celebration of Cornish enterprise and cuisine in Parliament whilst in London on St Piran’s Day – an event originally set up by Dan Rogerson and me 17 years ago. Congratulations to Steve Double and Scott Mann for keeping this important event going.
And to mark St Piran’s Day the Government announced that Cornwall – the poorest region in the UK – would have its status as the area which receives the highest level EU regional investment replaced with the most derisory cold-comfort crumbs from Government. It seems the Conservative Government is more interested in using tax-payers’ money to bribe the DUP in Northern Ireland and Labour MPs in Northern England.
