British Geriatrics Society Event

Today,Thursday 30th June, Andrew George MP, attended the launch of the British Geriatrics Society’s new Care Home Guidance.

The guidance is aimed at improving the provision, commission, planning and quality of medical support given to care homes and their residents. A recent report they produced noted that levels of support and care for the elderly are variable and patchy, and as such contained a number of recommendations to help improve the situation.

Mr George is a member of the Health Select Committee, and has rebelled against the Government’s Health and Social Care bill.
