
Brexit – a chance to learn what it all means and to have your say
Trade experts will have meetings and a big public debate in West Cornwall tomorrow following the publication of the draft Withdrawal Agreement later today.
Local campaigner and former MP Andrew George will welcome trade expert speakers to West Cornwall tomorrow to meet the public, students and businesses to advise on implications of the Brexit negotiations on Cornwall and the wider UK economy and to hold a debate.
Jason Hunter – International Trade negotiator and one of the “3 blokes in a pub” bloggers who have become widely followed in social media – will join Sarah Holmes – a leading solicitor who advises businesses on Brexit will join Mr George for a public debate in Penzance in the evening. Ms Holmes will be coming hot foot from events in London earlier in the day where the details of the Brexit agreement will be analysed by fellow trade experts. Mr George and Mr Hunter will visit Penwith College during the afternoon.
Mr Hunter will also be available to meet/talk to the media during the afternoon and especially between 5-6.30pm in a pub in Penzance! Please contact us to meet him.
The local Conservative MP – Mr Thomas – has been invited but has again refused. He has also refused to debate the subject with Mr George on the following evening, when he has arranged a meeting with UKIP in Helston.
The meeting will also cover the Brexit implications for the fishing industry.
Liberal Democrat Leader and former Trade Secretary – Dr Sir Vince Cable MP – will visit West Cornwall on 29th November.
