BIH – optimism, but still more work to do
In response to request for updates and following Radio interviews at the weekend (from Cornwall Council and a spokesman from Tesco’s) West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly MP, Andrew George, confirmed that constructive discussions were taking place with interested parties and that every effort was being made to explore a resolution which would see the continuation of a helicopter service from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly.
Mr George had said, “I would not want to raise expectations unrealistically at this stage. However, I am more optimistic now than I had been when British International announced last week that the service would end in November.
“No stone is being left unturned. All parties are determined to do all that they can to save this service. While discussions are going on, nothing more can be said publicly.”
