Andrew George visit to Isles of Scilly, October 1st – 2nd
I look forward to my next visit to the Isles of Scilly, on Wednesday and Thursday October 1st-2nd 2014.
As usual, my office and I have arranged a series of meetings, including another public meeting on Wednesday 1st October 2014 in the Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary’s commencing at 7.30pm and which will be chaired by local businessman Tim Guthrie. This is a repeat of previous public meetings, the last of which took place in the same venue in July.
These meetings provide an ideal opportunity to hear about local concerns and to explain what I have been doing in Parliament on behalf of islanders; including the progress of my Private Member’s Bill of Affordable Homes, which successfully received its Second Reading in Parliament earlier this month, and the vote are having on military action against IS. Of course there have been many issues raised by island residents in recent months: on matters ranging from access to health services, plans for a new helicopter service, road maintenance, the role of the Duchy, Coastguard services, sea and air transport, harbour development, water and drainage and local housing.
I look forward to a good turnout at the meeting. Please do tell your friends.
I will also be making other visits, holding other meetings and a casework surgery while I am on the islands.
The casework surgery is confirmed for Wednesday 1st October 2014 from 10.30am until 12 noon at The Manse Room, Church Street, St Mary’s.
If you would like to book an appointment or to meet while I’m touring the islands please call my constituency office on 01736 360020, or email andrew.george.mp@parliament.uk
