Andrew George MP – Statement re: West Cornwall Hospital Medical Ward 1

Following the Statement issued by the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust today that it has been decided to temporarily defer the re-opening of Medical Ward 1 at West Cornwall Hospital, the MP for the West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly constituency of St Ives, Andrew George, said:

“This will not help to restore lost confidence. The Trust has just been fined again for the number of patient readmissions. They need more acute beds, especially in the West. Patients should be brought closer to home.”
